Replaced CV's...just in time
I just finished swapping in new halfshafts. I knew the passenger side was bad (marbles in a coffee can sound) but damn, it was shot! it came out in 3 pieces. Both inner and outer joints literally fell apart when I got the thing out.
Not a hard job, just dirty. The old boots were gone and there is a nice coating of CV grease all over the bottom of the car. Oh well, it's a good rust preventative! The only pain in the butt was getting to those 3 bolts on the pass. side axle carrier. Who's brilliant idea was that?
Anyways, I got the shafts for $59.99 each at Autozone. That's really cheap. Halfshafts for my other car are around $200 each.
