shave it how????

i really hate that peice of usless plastic in the center of my 92 maxima trunk it looks like crap so shave it but how helpme out guys!!!!! and i have welders and friend that have a welding shop to fabricate it for me!!! so tell me basically how it is done i am clueless !!!and thank god for my lil sisters boyfriends uncle who is paintin my car for like pretty much nothing lol!!!!

i was contemplating shaving the trunk. of course i have a 91 se so my plastic instert is somewhat attractive (black). i saw it done on that one guy's car he hooked up for his daughter but i have to say, i didn't like how it looked, course it's probably because i didn't like the color he painted the car. made me think twice about shaving the trunk though.
