Here the tax code has been miserable: any add on de-vice is taxed to full 100% or smtg like that... That is why car dealers import stripped cars and add aftermarket products and bypass the heavy taxing on cars. Thus my car has "original" aftermarket keyless alarm, A/C etc which have been added here later...

I suppose the original alarm can be just disconnected. Or use it as added security: crooks typically catch the radiocode and use it.

you can use the arm/disarm inputs at the stock alarm if you want to keep it or you can simply unplug it and not worry about it since you're installing an aftermarket one

I just unplugged mine like Craig said. It always screwed up anyway so I was glad to unplug it.

A lot of people like the backup system but I am not in a high car theft area and really only got the alarm for the remote start, trunk pop, and keyless entry.

well I did put 92 before the SE5 part so its automatically known that its a VE .

I put the model of the car not the engine code.
