ok i got a question. my radio got stolen a while back and i had insurance fix it. they got the head unit in ok but whoever did it decided to rewire my system. i had my deck speakers (bose system)unhooked at the time and whoever rewired it spliced the solid red wire going into the right (looking from the trunk) speaker harness and ran it to the B+ on the amp. why did he mess with it and will it be a problem when i want to put speakers back in? i would just undo the wires and put them back how i had them but he cut it so close to the harness that i cant do that now. any help?

he did Whaaaa?

the only thing I could hope that it would be is the +12V from the front of the car..

which wiring harness are you talking about? what kinda amp? stock Blose or aftermarket? how big is the amp if it's not stock?
could he have stuck it in the jack for the remote turn-on wire?

if he stuck it in b+ and it's a decent sized amp, the guy is a moron..

to be able to help you any more, I need more info.
(and this guy's phone number so I can tell him to get his *** out of the stereo business)

its stock bose. you know where the wires plug in by the deck speakers? thats where he did it. he took the solid red wire from the bundle of wires that plug into the bose unit by the deck speakers and ran it to the b+ of my amp. the amp is an L A Sound Malibu 120 s. i dont know anything about it cuz my cousin gave it to me. he thought it didnt work so he let me have it. i think the guy was just bypassing the remote turn on wire to the accessory of the amp. the +12v is coming from the battery itself. so in that case could i just put a t-connecter on the remote turn on wire from the bose harness and run the 6x9 and the amp at the same time? know what i mean?> splicing the accesory from the amp into the bose harness, running both at same time? do you think that was his intention?

I think that was his intention, but if he plugged it into the b+ of your amp, then he screwed up.. it should be connected to the remote turn on input of your amp, NOT the b+. there should be a fat, red cable straight from your battery, and it should go to the b+ on your amp. A fat black one goes to the ground (or - ) terminal. the small wire from your bose harness should connect to the remote input terminal..
then again, I'd have to see the install to see what he was doing. that red wire he connected to may be +12 from the battery, or it could be switched.. it may only have +12V when the stereo is on.. I dunno about the bose though.
