ABS Problem

I was driving to work today when my abs light came on. I stoped and turned the car off. I heard a wurring noise and looked under the hood. It sounded like a small electrical motor running next to the abs unit. I unplugged it and plugged it back in and it stopped. Any idea why this may have happened? Also it seems that my brake pedal is a little stiff now that this happened. I recently put rear brake pads on so maybe that is the problem.

ABS relay is probably going.

Possibilities are:
- ABS relay (relay box);
- ABS actuator (in a black box u were talking about)
- ABS actuator relay (in a black box u were talking about)

Temp solution: give a little kick on the top of the black box and ABS should return to normal

I might be wrong but I believe the explanation they gave me when my 240SX did the same thing was the ABS unit has it's own little cooling fan beneath the black plastic covering and that's what you hear. All I would do is knock on the top of it really hard and it would stop. It would continue to make that noise even after I shut the car off. The only way I could stop it was banging on that black plastic thing.

Con -t- acts.

Contacts on that connector, burned relay points mentioned above, relay connectors oxidized. Time for computer environment PM: http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/748507/14
