door lock problems (con't.)

ok i finally got to taking my door apart that doesn't open... i pryed the door out so its only connected on the front... ive been pulling at those levers and bars and everythign that i can see that is attached to the door handles and locks... so far it seems like lock piece that pops up when its unlocked is screwey and the outter handle has no resistance ... is there something that i can pull that will pop it open that im missing? or can pop it open from the door jam where it actually locks onto that pin im kinda stuck right now and i have my pass door off too to try and match things up but no luck

Lock is a simple "thing".
1. Safety link (up and down) - "up" lock can be open, "down" lock can't be open (i.e. latch release wouldn't work).
2. Latch release: releases door lock

What you need is a combination of two:
1. Safety link is "up" (latch release engaged)
2. Latch released

If your RH door is open too - release latch and see which links are involved (try to find the last one - attached to lock itself; see how it which direction it pulls to; and so the same thing on your driver's door).

If above doesn't help - the only possible thing is that safety link doesn't engage latch release.

Good Luck!

yea i did that and i saw this one piece that moved up and down off the lock itself that popped it opened.. found that out from the working door.. was messin around with the working door and i was able to open it from pushing that thing.. tried on the bad door.. nothing it was stuck, it has a little bit of play but for the most part its stuck.. tried all combonations of levers etc.. now i cant get the inside of the door on or off.. its just kinda there half assembled and im still climbing out the pass door...... pisses me off... im buyin a 4th gen 5 speed sometime within the next 2 months so i might just stick it out but my car is an eyesore because of an accident and now i can't sell it for what i thaught i could and im kinda in a hard place.. maby ill just part it out

... what I'd do in this situation?
Tie latch link with something in position "released" (i.e "open door") and give a good kick in place where lock is positioned with your "leg" power (from inside, of course). Wear some "rubber" shoes

Once again - good luck!
