Security Light On, Car Won’t Start

90 maxima was working fine till clutch and window fell, and while I was fixing window I think I left something in the car and since window was down I reached and unlocked door and when I opened the door the alarm went off which I did not know was I had. Because I’m not original owner I didn’t have the remote to turn it off so I disconnected it from the battery to stop the alarm. I replaced the clutch hose and when I wanted to start it would not even try and turn over nothing happened. Is there a way I can reset the computer?? I heard that maximas have an antitheft mechanism, which cuts off the fuel or something…PLEASE HELP I miss driving my max

stick the key inside the key hole and turn it to unlock it from the outside. This will turn off the OEM anti-theft.

Unlock RH door (not driver's side) lock with a key from outside - this should turn off factory alarm

LOL!!! There is only ONE WAY to unlock door from outside with a key.
If you need to reset computer - just disconnect battery for 1 hour.

If you have auto tranny - move shifter a little (sometimes it doesn't see position P)

is the security light still on after you unlocked all the doors from the passenger side with the key?

it will turn off the factory alarm, just like everyone has said. if you lock from outside and open from inside, think about it, thats a simple break in. so to fix it just lock/unlock the door. problem solved.

ps what is that car in your profile.

Older versions ECU will not allow starting if camshaft sensor is shorted/disconnected, dash light will be on.

Take off distributor, rotate it and measure fluctuating 5 volts on cam sensor pins 2&3.

thats a photochopped max. Look at the color of the paint between the door and the wheel You can see the merging that he tried to do. Horrible. But a good car if they were to exist. Lmao

I don't know if this damages the car in any way but if the car won't start because of the alarm...
1) pull the horn fuse (to stop the horn from blowing)
2)Pull the electronic ignition fuse
3)start the car
4)replace electronic ignition fuse, not the horn fuse or horn will once again, start blowing

The security light will eventually go off. This has worked for me every time with my car...as long as you can go without using your cruise control! I've found that the cruise is wired through the horn fuse some kind of way.

why not get the S# from behind the glovebox and re-program the alarm (keypad)?? that way you would know for sure if it was the alarm, but usualy you could just turn the key on the driverside to get the alarm from going off.

I just reprogramed mine yesterday, so thats proly why im mentioning it. took like 10 min

Immoblizer?

my '90 max has an immoblizer, you may have a switch under your glove box which in my case activates "valet mode" if the valet mode is off and i disconnect and re- connect the battery the car wont start, simply turn valet mode on to disable the alarm (switch on/off with ignition on)
