GXE, I don't see anything on the head cover it I know I have the VG30 engine but when I got a new alternator someone told me it was a DOHC but I always thought it was SOHC.

It would be more cost-effective to just sell your car and buy a 92-94SE 5-speed. You can also swap in a VG30ET from a Z31 300ZX, but your automatic tranny would have to be beefed up to handle the power. In short, as much as I don't want to sound like a VE elitist, it isn't worth doing major work to a GXE unless you have major sentimental value attached to the car.

You are a VE elitist, Mizeree...

What Mizeree means is the value of your 93 GXE is probably just slightly lower than a 93 SE with similar miles and options. It is way easier to sell you car, save up a little cash and buy an SE.

There is just no getting around the fact that the VE nets you 30 extra hp in the exact same chassis. The problem for someone with a VG is the engine, tranny, ECU and wiring harness are different, making it a huge task to do a swap. Not to mention, you have to find an intact drivetrain and electronics from a VE car.

i want to say that the cedric never came with the vg30et but did come with the vg30det.

i double checked again and it does appear the 89 cedric did come with a vg30et. i still can't find any pictures to see whether or not its the same vg30et with the maxima style intake... most likely it is. from what i can tell it either only came in the 89 model (up to july) or had an option for it from 87-7/89. in august of 89 it got the vg30de and the vg30det option.

either way... i know for sure it came in a gloria and it might have possibly came in a cedric. (still can't find any pictures of the dang cedric)
