I Need An Opinion On This

Sup guys, I mentioned this awhile back and don't remember. Maybe you can help me out. I have a 92se 5-speed and the tranny bearings are shot and need a tranny ASAP and still driving it. I have a vg tranny at my cousins house that i had from my other car. Now my question is,

1. Can I use the vg tranny on my car? and what do I have to change or
will I have any problems with it?

2. Should I get the same tranny that the car came with.

3. Is my tranny locking or nonlocking diff. and whats the difference?

Again I'm tryin to buy the tranny for my car and the tranny for my car is hard to find. So should I keep trying or can I replace it with the vg tranny I have for now. Oh one more thing a few people keep telling me get the same tranny I have.

you can scan back through the pages and find this info. It takes a little time, but it's not that hard to do. Internetautomart just about covered it. The tranny will work, but you need to have VG hubs and axles.

Your tranny is not "locking" it is a VLSD (viscous limited slip differential). I would recommend finding a VE tranny or having yours rebuilt, since you will lose the VLSD if you put in the VG tranny. I am not sure, but I think the axles aren't as beefy, either (some one please tell me if this is incorrect).

If you pay $20, you will become a donating .org member and use the search feature to your heart's content. Just something to think about.

Like mentioned, it would work but you would also need to find VG axles and hubs. I doubt axle strength is an issue with VG30ET guys running around on stock VG axles.
