anyone else ever encounter this with the rear calipers?

so the pass side caliper on my 93 froze up, so i went and bought a reman from autobarn, put it on, and the thing leaks from the e brake levers. no big deal, **** happens, but they dont have any more in stock, so i have to drive another 30 min to get another one( keep in mind i am dooing this as it starts to snow, outside, and we're supposed to get a foot, so i really want to go this done like now. i get the other one, put it on, same thing!. now i've already changed one before, its not like i dont know how to bolt the thing on and bleed the system, but 2 calipers going bad?!. any ideas what could be wrong or should i just return it? to boot, i already turned in the core

That sucks man... go grab you another one and insist that it's another brand. sounds like the place that's rebuilding them isn't replacing that seal.

actually the seal looks like it's new. maybe theyre just not putting it in right, or it's the wrong seal, but by the time i go back theyll have another reman one in stock, no manufacturer info on it, so i dont think i can really ask for another place to do it since i dont know who made it. what sucks is that i cant even just return it since they have my core(it really doesnt matter, i have 2 other calipers i could use for cores, but its the point) maybe if i get them to refund me both the reman and the core ill order it from someone else.

go to where you first bought the caliper and chances are your core is still sitting there waiting to be returned.

I do sell calipers too.

I've never had a problem with the calipers I bought at Napa. FYI I think a rear caliper was around $80.

reason i went to autobarn is because they were the only ones that had it in stock. i have a napa up the block from me, personally i like to use autozone(go ahead and gimme crap over it, but they have a lifetime warrantee), but out of the 5 parts places i called they were the only one i could walk into and walk out with a caliper, and they were 80 bucks, somewhat more expensive than everyone else. i just wanted to get it done before it snowed, now it's unter a foot and a half of snow

I bought a caliper from advance autoparts that leaked like that... it was the rear passengers side... I returned it, got a new one and everything was fine. But it sucked because the store is like 30 min away and I had to make multiple trips and my car was off the road for the better part of a week... Got to drive the Z around though...so it all worked out in the end.

I've been working buddy. I should be around your area one of these weekends to come to bother our friend. I will surely give you a call and boy don't we have a lot of snow
