Those VEer's using the Yota filter. What have you

what happens if you use the screwdriver technique and then i just rips the filter and the filter just stays there. Are you doomed or is there hope to get it off?

Then you look as silly as a maxima with Lexus wheels.

You just have to mangle the thing to death until it comes off. Strap wrench is probably the easiest way. Unless you can find a filter wrench that's designed just for that sized filter. This Yota one is very small and a non-generic sized. I've tried to find a filter wrench at Schmucks etc... but none of those fit.

I used my hand for a long time, and that worked fine. But when I was buying new filters at the Toyota dealer, I bought a $4 filter wrench with 3/8" socket. Of course I don't use the wrench to put it on.
