Upgrade Fuel Pump

I got a kit that has all the tubing but it also has a wiring harness so I'm not sure what to do with that. I just thought that you switch the pump and filter and everything else stays the same. Does anybody have a write-up on how to upgrade to a Walbro 255 LPH fuel pump in a 3rd gen SE?

May I ask why you are upgrading to a 255? Are you running forced induction, or a large nitrous kit?

My pump was getting very loud. I also suspect that the fuel pump was from a junk yard because the car seemed to have been in a rear end collision. So I figuered if I'm going to buy a fuel pump I might aswell buy a higher performing one.

Does the pump require more voltage than the stock one?

more pressure on a stock car will not gain you any advantage.

no the pump does not require more voltage althought ive heard some run a new relay and thicker wire for a better connection

this pump will work fine althought your fuel pressure will go up it wont affect drivability

mine went up to 52psi and its suposed to be at 43psi. nothing my adjustable FPR cant fix

When I do install it, should I also install an FPR?

Just follow the instructions that came with the pump. As for the wiring, I removed the stock wires from the terminal and soldered on the new wires running from the walbro harness.

If you don't lower the pressure won't you be running pig rich?

Is there a way to set the fuel ratio without getting an FPR?
