Overcharging

Overcharging
My battery was overcharging, I would turn on my headlights, and they would burn out immediately. Because they were both relatively new and still under warranty, I had the battery & alternator replaced. I also had the charging system checked. I was told the system was charging slightly high, but that it should not have been causing those problems. With the replaced parts the problems went away for about 2 weeks. It is leaking again but only a very small amount. Should I have the charging system checked again or are there any other ideas of what could be causing the overcharging?

The battery is leaking acid from the top near the connnections. What do you mean by how is it overcharging? The rest of your questions I do not have answers to as I am not that bright with cars. I was just hoping to get some ideas to suggest to my mechanic because he wasn't sure what the cause could be if not charging system/alternator.

The charging system is pretty straigh foward , it consist of the battery feeding the coil of the alternator(permission to generate voltage given by ignition key ) then the alternator spins created electricity(like a dynamo feed by an electro magnet) , uses it own regulator to charge the batery directly ... besides of the Alternator's regulator beiing bad and a weird battery I do not see anything causing the problem ... IF you have a rebuilt alternator I would look for regulator(in alternator) or just changing it(alternator).....also it would be Verry good after riding the car to park and look for battery voltage as sugested By matt93se ... Battery leak could indicate 1-an old battery 2-a damaged battery 3-a too mutch charged battery....
Hope this helps...
