Matt's Next Project of the Week.... (watch out 56K)
Bejay, I'll take a look at making some 4 gen ones, but I need a guinea pig to work on first. best bet would be a spare IM and throttle body.
The ID on the spacers is 61.X mm, and I think the OE throttle body is the same. I sent an OE throttle body to my machinist and just had him make me 10 spacers for it it, and he didn't send the TB back with them. I've already bored out my TB to 64mm and the IM was even larger, so I can't really say where they are now. I think my IM is ~68mm and the TB outlet is 64mm. I flared out the spacer on my car to match the IM and TB.
Cheezer, longer spacer doesn't mean more air per se. yes you have more volume behind the throttle body now, but only by about 25cc. . The 1/2" material is $$ enough as is. It's also the thickest you can make it without having to make a custom bracket for the throttle and cruise control cables. I ran the adjuster nuts down as far as I could on them, and they just barely fit on there without pulling the butterfly open any.
currently I have no plans to make one for the VG, but if enough people want them, I can see about it.
The VE one will be $40 including the new, longer bolts to fit. I have 8 of the spacers in stock, but I need to order the bolts. should be here in a week or so.

supposedly it helps to increase airflow velocity or swirl speed or something like that. they're hugely popular on the domestics (yes, even ones with fuel injection), so I thought I'd try it and see. seems to be worth a couple HP, and it's also an easy way to open up your TB and IM bores and use the spacer to match both diameters.

I can attest to the gains EFI SBFs see with them.
I sucked it up bad- as I usually do. of course I'm stuck in SM and the field is pretty tough. about 2.5 sec behind the leaders. But then again, I was on my all-season street tires this month and not my slicks..
