If my max sits for over like 2 minutes without the gas pedal being depressed, the gas pedal sticks. Originally I thought it was the gas pedal itself, but I was looking under the hood one day, messing around with the throttle linkage and I tried to move it. It was stuck in the resting position and required a little shove to move it. It seems that the "quarter moon" looking piece of metal that moves gets stuck to the little resting piece on the engine. Any ideas on what I could use (ie. WD-40) or what I could do to alleviate this problem?

WD40 sounds good to me; I don't see any reason why not. It's just a simple mechanical part and it won't hurt anything if you try that. Just to be safe, you may want to get some towels over the rest of the stuff around there so the WD40 just goes on the linkage and not everywhere else.
And if your throttle body hasn't been cleaned in a while, it might be a good idea to do that. Intructions have been posted recently if you need them, but it's a pretty simple job (even simpler for VE since we dont need to replace any gaskets)
good luck

Definity i'd say do the intake cleaning. there's probably alot of carbon deposits in there that is making the butterfly stick.

A sticking throttle is the classic symptom of an advanced case of dirty throttle body. Nothing you spray on the outside of the TB, or linkage, will fix it.

Well I'll guess this will have to go on my list of things to do. Dang, too many things to replace/fix before I can even get a simple mod like tinted windows. Oh well, would Haynes manual give a decent description of this process? Because I can tell that I am going to need pictures or a detailed set of instructions. Thanks for all the help.

Thanks, I already did a search for throttle body just like any max.org veteran would and I have that page bookmarked.
