i have a wierd clacking its not the vtcs but something different when i push the clutch in it goes away but when i let off i get a clacking cant pin point it in the engine bay is it the throw out bearing?

 

Your tranny's input shaft bearings. I have that too Matt93se did replace his with good results. My tranny shifts tight so I think I could get away with just a bearing(s) replacement and not touch the synchros or the two output shaft bearings etc...

 

While on this subject do you all use engine braking?? Do you notice any whining as the rpms come down?
