What's causing this

This morning while i was warming the car, i put a little gas just to make the RPM go up to 1500. I notice some low backfires while idling. Whats the cause of this??

It's either electrical, mechanical or fuel related.

will-o'-the-wisp = low back fires - seen in the horizon?

Car history is the key: how many miles, what maintenace has been done, any other problems.

disconnect the wires one at a time until you find 1 that DOESN'T change the way the car is running

When is the last time you do a tune-up (plugs, wire, cap, rotor, fuel filter, etc.)?

Maybe a two plugs are in the wrong arrangement. When I changed my plugs two weeks ago I ended up swapping two of the plugs and when I pressed the gas and let off of it I would hear a backfire. I figured out which two were wrong swapped them and haven't heard the backfire since.
