Alarm is armed automatically 30 seconds after you lock the drivers door with your key. During those 30 seconds, the light will come on solid, and go off afterwards. The only time it flashes is when one of the doors is open.

when you unlock your door, do a "double" unlock to unlock all the doors.
If all the doors unlock then your alarm has been disarmed, otherwise try the passenger side.

happens to me too..but my locks are messed up. They will unlock then lock..then sometimes they wont go all the way up and i kinda have to pull the handle right after i turn the key to get it open(just on the drivers side)

well i got a 92 and it would alarm when i had my remote for the doors. it wasnt like an aftermarket alarm or anything. it is wired through the lights. like if the doors are open or if the trunk is open (i think even the hood) it will go off.
and on mine the alarm/security light stays on solid when the door or trunk is open. then it will turn off or flash a couple of times and then it will turn off
not a big alarm specialist but just telling u by personal experience/something i went through
hope it helped
