hood struts

Where can I get new hood struts from? The only place I've been able to find are at a replacement parts catalog online and they are like $45 each and I think thats just outrageous

Check courtesynissan.com. IIRC, awsm66 replaced his. I have to do that soon myself. It has got too annoying.

Internetautomar sells them too. He'll probably be around here in a little while to plaster his website on here...

I bought new ones at Advance Auto. Seems like they were less than 30 bucks each. They had to order them.

How long do these hood struts usually last? Mine went bad shortly after I got my car, but who knows how long they been on there.

I got new ones from advance auto parts for like $25 each. The kind they carry do not require you to do any work to your existing brackets. Just unbolt the old and bolt up the new.

Oh god the dreaded words of all in our shop... "Supposed to be" . Of course I have a better feeling about the parts you'd send than what we're getting at my shop here.

2 things affect getting the correct parts.
1. The person looking them up
2. the catalog being used

I use a piece of wood, but yesterday I forgot and the hood slammed shut on my head ooowwwww....

It seems mine only falls in colder weather. I should get new ones, but I just spent some money on injector and stuff, so it'll wait.

Advanced auto parts

I checked online and they listed $57.99 for the left and $39.99 for the right. I'd rather take a gamble and order from internetautomar.
