hesitation?

hesitation?

my wife started the car and when she went to drive off it as hesitating as it drove?? its auto first off and when she called me out to drive it and see i drove forwards and in reverse and both ways the car hesitated almost a like im gonna die feeling but didnt, also when i opened the hood to see if i can see any thing that stood out i noticed white smoke from the behind the valve cover somewhere i could not quite pin point where though. thanks for the help

Its not the T-Ford: open hood and fixit with screwdriver. Its floating computer center...
