ATF Fluid Change
Ok, so I am planning on doing a tranny fluid replacement. Now, I am wondering, should I just do a simple fluid change? Or should I change the filter as well?
If I am to change the filter, where can I find directions on doing it? Ok, I take off the pan, but where is the filter, and how do I change it?

Is there a reason for oilchange? Do not touch things that work

If you have had slipping problems try this 50$ valve pack:

...at least the 'manuello de chilton crap' gives even pics on that. From outside looks the same. Never actually changed my red clean liquids. Must go with the tranny models?
Have to take the manual and check for my RE4F02A. Comments will follow.
Note1: Chiltons 93-98 Manual connects oil/filter change to RE4F02 (VG) autotranny.
Note2: Chiltons 93-98 Manual connects oil/filter change to RE4F04 (VE) autotranny. With so called pics [spelled: pigs].
Nissan FSM -94 does not tell ! anything related to filter change....

Just an uneducated pointer: If you are currently experiencing any kind of transmission problems, changing the tranny fluid actually INCREASES your chance of the problems getting WORSE.
If your just changing it for service reasons (no slipping or other problems involved) then go for it. I changed mine last year and shes still shifting smooth as ice cream...yummy!

If your fluid is already burned then I would change it because it will mess things up. If your fluid is good and you want to do is as maintnance then change all the fluid if you can. On my vg which had 124k when I sold it,it had a small 1-2 kick from about 100k. When I changed the fluid I did a regular drain and fill. But at 123k I did a complete drain and then pumped out all the tranny fluid by disconnecting the return line from the radiator. After I changed all the fluid the 1-2 kick was gone.
