94 Maxima Power Door Lock Problems

I am experiencing problems with my power door locks on my 94 maxima. Basically they just stopped working. I looked in the fuse box for a fuse for the door lock but didnt see one. Can anyone please tell me if I over looked the fuse or is there a relay that could be blown. Please help.

I had similar problems with my 92 maxima - at first the locks would lock/unlock repeatedly when I tried to lock the car, then after some months quit working entirely. Also of note, my driver's side window "auto down" switch would not roll the window all the way down. Other symptoms I had:

- I could hear the "click" in the door lock timer when I tried to lock the doors (doors didn't lock), but could NOT hear a click in the timer when I tried to unlock the doors.

- When I plugged/unplugged the black plug from the door timer, all four locks would lock/unlock, so I figured there was hope!

Everything I read on the internet said "resolder the door lock timer" - which I did, even though it looked okay. Bottom line was, resoldering the timer did not fix the problem - in fact, I feel fortunate that I didn't break the thing trying to resolder it. As a side note, I DID successfully resolder a timer that I took from the junk yard - when I looked at the board, it was obvious which contact had broken, so I resoldered it and, viola, she works again!!

I went to the junk yard and pulled a door lock timer AND the master switch on the driver's side door - when I replaced the master switch (has all the window up/down switches on it, locks, etc..) everything works beautifully!!! You can get these switches used on ebay for about $20 + s&h, or pay about $100 for a brand new one.

If you need a new door lock timer, I will be happy to sell you a used (tested!!) one for $33, however, you will need to mail me your old one as an exchange. If the timer doesn't fix your problem, I will refund your $$ less shipping costs.

The door lock timer is located under the dash on the driver's side - remove the "dash" cover below the steering wheel (also has the door to the fuses on it) - you will see the door lock timer below and right of the steering wheel - it is a gray or black box attached to a silver bracket that is secured by two large phillips head screws and is about 3" (height) x 2.25" (width) x 1" (depth) with two connectors (white and black) going into it - you should be able to hear a "click" coming from this box when you try to lock/unlock the doors - this is how I found it originally.

On my 92 maxima, once the "dash" cover is removed, the door lock timer is located in plain view above the gas pedal and to the left of the Bose CD player/radio.
