I actually used to 'sell' them a few years ago. I put it in quotes because I only ended up making like two or three. For one everybody wanted me to source a 92-94 grille which was darn near impossible, and secondly nobody wanted to pay for my hours and hours of labor on the grille, since most everyone here makes them 'in lyk3 15 minutes'.

On mine I fill in those 4 'notches' on the underside of the top grille frame, and I'm almost positive nobody else does that

Anywho, the mesh is held on the backside with JB Weld Quick or whatever it's called. The 4 minute stuff. Your hands sure get tired squeezing/holding it on there as tight as you can for 4-5 mins, but it sure works. Not sure if that helps you

Kevin Cleffi (sp) got my last grille I made (aside from my personal one now) a few years back. Not sure where that car is now though

If you get a 92-94 grille, and look on the underside of the top bar/frame, it's solid material for about 2 inches, then there's a large cutout a couple inches long, followed by another. Then in the middle there's solid material for a couple inches, then a large cutout for a couple more inches, followed by another cutout, then about 2 inches of material till you're at the other side.

It's almost virtually impossible to describe, but anyone with a 92-94 grille can see it. If you pick one up somewhere you'll see it.

The significance of those cut-outs/notches is that there's virtually no way to keep the top of the mesh sturdy/secured al the way across the top. Where those 4 notches/cutouts are, the mesh is flimsy/loose and looks tacky. I'd actually make plastic pieces to fit into each of those 4 notches, plastic weld them in, fill them, paint, seal, etc... just as if it came solid like that stock.

I think I used to charge like $60 labor for the grilles. However materials were about $15-20 bucks, and then shipping is $15-20, and you're nearing in on a hundred bucks for a grille.. on top of that lots of people didnt have any 92-94 grilles, and it's not like I have those growing on a tree in the backyard. So needless to say I didnt have many takers which is fine, but I wasnt going to be charging any less to tear my hands up for a few hours labor a day for half a week. People always seemed content with their own shoddy work anyway so more power to em. Some of you guys who are hard on bhunter, his actually looks alot better than some of the other mesh grilles floating around here on the .org..

I don't think people have been too hard on me. Most people have liked it and some have not. I have a pretty thick skin. It was nice to have people include in this thread pics of some others done similarly because I haven't seen them. The one thing that people may not have liked is the maxima logo on the front. That is the thing I wanted to do the most. "Almost" every car made has the company logo on the front and the model on the *** end. I wanted the model on the front. I think every person who mods their car does it to make their car different from the ones on the street in their town.

All 92-94 grilles are the same - the GXE's are just chrome. All 89-91 grilles are the same and 92-94 grilles are the same, only difference is chrome or body color

So any 92-94 grille will work, but an SE one would be easier, since you wouldnt have to try to get all the chrome off

Still modding 3rd gen grills I see. Looks nice. My homegrown grill is about the only thing that still looks decent on mine.
Cheers!
