Mustang Wheel help

So I really like these wheels: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=43957
They're knock-offs of the 17x8 Mustang GT Bullit rims. Same thing right? The only reason I want these is because I don't like the color of the OEM rims and I can never find them anyway. will there be any difference in construction/quality? Just looking for opinions. Thanks.

I don't think those will clear the Z32 calipers if you end up going that route

the cobra rims fit that have the curved spoke because of the curve that bends out.

nope, 17 is how tall, 9 is how wide. you wont even fit 9 inch wide rims in there.

there are 5 spoke rustang rims that will work, jeff92se and mizereeX have them.

I guess I'll either find some another set that I like, or learn to like the Cobras. Thanks for all your help.

I found these: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...958174952&rd=1
Says they're factory, but they're 17x9. I know they're not the same as Jeff's or Mizeree's, but does it look like this style of wheel will clear the Z caliper?

if you fit 9 inch wide rims in there congrats, but like i said 8 is really cutting it close. I know mrgone is having a heck of a time trying to fit 18x8s. And awsm66 said his 17x7's were really close to his struts. but its all about the offset, because they are only 26mm i dont know if they will stick out like a mexican hoopty from the 70s. Most people are looking at 35-40mm offset although ive heard from atleast 2 people that 42mm works.

Why do you want mustang rims so bad? i mean you drive a maxima right?

edit: i said "like i said" but i never said 8 is cutting it close

get the 1" or 1.25" spacers with their own lugs and you can fit 9's and not worry about the brake setup. ($60-120/pair on ebay depending on brand)

Um yeah. Let's get some real info here.

Those Bullit wheels are interesting.
1) They should fit fine. As they should have the same 30mm-ish offset as most other Mustang GT/Cobra wheels. Anything over 8" wide is not recommended. As with the 8" rim + 30mm offset 235 wide tire is about the max you can run. And you DON'T want to run a 235 on a 8.5" or 9" wheel.
2) Okay, I have read that the Cobra wheel (the one I have been running as well as Brad and Miseree) will fit. Duh. hehe. BUT I have read that the Bullit wheel will clear "some" bbk for the Mustang. I believe when they say that, they mean the Cobra TWO piston caliper and 13" rotor. I HIGHLY suggest you take a look at a Mustang with the Bullit wheels and see what kind of space there is inbetween the spoke and caliper. If it's less than a few inches, you can probably forget it. The 300z FOUR piston caliper is wider(obviously). And you have to add another 10mm to that.

Of course if these are replicas and not the real ones, they could build them which way they want so all bets are off.

All I'll say is these are one of the few 17x8" Ford GT/Cobra wheels that have a good CHANCE at clearing. I'll take a gander at a GT with them if I get a chance. Hopefully I avoid getting shot at while crouching down inspecting someone else's wheels.

Thanks Jeff, I was thinking about inspecting the wheels myself, but I'm hesitant for the same reasons you are.

TripleGmax: Funny thing, I didn't really like Mustang wheels until I learned you could put them on a Maxima. Once I learned that you could, they became the most beautiful things in the world. I really don't know what the driving force behind my desire to get them is.

Yeah, me/we get kidded about it. Right up to the day when you see a ricer civic with a 100ft wing and orange neons running the 4 lug versions of the wheels you have on the maxima. hehe

And unless you chose carefully, most cheap aftermarkets are as heavy or heavier than these anyway.

About 19-21lbs. I used to people talking about Ford wheels etc... Like Ford/Nissan/oem makers actually manufacture their own wheels anyway. hehe
