Got my full Warpspeed exhaust, i think...

So I got the full headers back exhaust system from warpspeed. I am having a bit of trouble though, and I was hoping someone could help. Did anyone who purchased this (or the y-pipe) not recieve exh. manifold bolts? There should be six but I only have 4 and they are for the flanges on the cat and b-pipe. Also am I correct in assuming that the b-pipe just slides into the back of the muffler w/o any flanges? This is nuts, it isn't a snug fit, and the warpspeed online instructions say "get it welded up if you have a chance" I don't have time to do this before I get emissions tested, do you think I would fail because of this little gap? Sorry its so long...

the only thing i can tell you is that for the 3rd gen warpspeed expects you to use the original exhaust manifold bolts. or at least thats how it was when i got my y-pipe, i would say check the instructions on their web page. i dunno about your other questions i only have the y-pipe.

hello neighbor you shouldnt need bolts for the exhaust manifolds they have studs and you just reuse the nuts you will see when you take off the old y pipe. as for the b-pipe its depends on what muffler you have if you need any help i have done the ypipe bpipe combo a couple times just pm me i can help you install this stuff

Thanks for the offer to help, Harvs, but I am currently at school in Detroit, so I am going to do it solo. I figured I could just re-use the bolts, but I have heard of them breaking off on the 3rd gen. If this happens what is the hardware store equivalent of the OEM bolts? And milwaukee is not a suburb of Chicago...That's Kenosha's job

The studs that break on the 3rd gen are the ones that bolt the manifold to the head, not the y-pipe to the manifold.

u should use the 6 nuts from ur old y-pipe to install the new one. i just installed my y-pipe with my carsound cat from WSP this past Sun. and i re-used the same nuts but i just bought new nuts from Nissan for $.80 each so i will replace them this weekend cuz my old ones r rusted and seem to be a bit stripped as well. the ones that just break off r from the headers and those r the exhaust studs.

Thnaks for the help. For my peace of mind I am going to go to the Nissan dealer and get some new ones. It will make me feel better. Did anyone here paint their exhaust with high heat paint to protect it? I was thinking about painting the parts no one will see to keep salt and stuff from damaging the metal but this may be overkill... any thoughts?

Suburb of Chicago, not a suburb, who cares. At least we have beer.....

You might as well buy stainless steel, im sure the salt would eat thru the paint that you put on the exhaust too...

pretty sure there is special paint for this purpose or a special something you can spray on the exhaust. salt=devil.

i just painted my y pipe with some dupli color high temp. im not sure how well its going to hold up but at least it will give it a fighting chance and i can always grind and repaint later.
