Broken Stud Help. Yes, I read the stickies.
Okay, starting to plan my broken stud replacement. I have read the stickies, but was wondering if anyone has any better pictures of replacing the rear studs. I can see one stud that is completely missing, and I am assuming there will be more. I really do not want to pull the engine, but I think my clutch is getting old as well, so I am considering it. Just want any advise on the easiest way to do the rear studs. It looks like I could get to the front ones pretty easily, but the rears, how do you get a drill, even a right angle drill, and the room to work between the engine and the firewall? BTW I am dealing with a 91 SE 5-speed. Thanks,
Jason.

Broken studs
I am taking you found the "stickie" on stud replacement. (I wrote it from my experience recently). Anyway, once you remove the cross member, the rear motor mount AND bracket, there is plenty of room to work. (more than i originally thought). I used an air 90 degree drill. they are pretty compact and there is plenty of space between where you are drilling and the firewall.
yes just remove the motor mounts, then the bracket for the mounts, while supporting the engine by the oil pan, then slowly lower it a little bit, there is enough room to work back there with a short drill
