Car Died when Driving And now it won't start... HELP!!!
I have a 93 SE Auto, I pulled out of my driveway earlier, went about 25-30 feet and my car died. I tried to start it over and over again, but everytime i did, it would run really crappy for about 10 seconds and then die. I checked the fuel filter, drained it, and connected it. When i disconnected it, it started squirting gas out. I tried to restart it and now it won't run, it just cranks. I checked all the fuses, and they are all good. I'm not sure if it's the fuel pump or not, but any info. would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Eric!
Thanks, Eric!
A motor needs air, fuel, and spark to run so you need to see which one it's missing. Unless there's a mouse nest in your air box then it's probably getting air so that's easy. I would check for spark next since it's fairly easy to do, look up instructions on google or something. You can check for fuel by installing a fuel pressure gauge. Lastly I'd check the engine codes to see if they tell you anything, that's in the stickies. Let us know after you check these things.
BTW: Was there any other symptoms before it died?

Well, it was the fuel pump. I had problems previously, where it would not start for a few minutes, and then would. I would imagine that it was a weak pump and then it just died. The only symptoms were that it started to sputter and then died. I will say that Nissan was thinking very smart when they installed this pump, it only took about 20 minutes or so to change and was a cake walk! Thank you nissan!!! Thanks For the reply!
