E36 Light Advice

Im looking at purchasing a set of angel eye projectors for my max,
i've read the stickies and all that for months but im trying to figure out what design and that to get.. Has anyone have these lights with chrome backround?
like these:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33710
anyone have pics with these installed on a max?

or these cheap ones with black backround:
http://www.umnitza.com/product_info....roducts_id=153
think they would look good and easy to install being silicone install and all?
Any advice would be great!
Thanks.

There is a guy on here that has the chrome lights. I cant remember his name but maybe he will post. I personally dont like them because its way too much chrome going on for me.

search cardomain and see if you can find him. If you like the look get them if you dont then get the black ones.

I wish they had a unlighted picture of the second link. I'm still trying to decide wether or not I want E36 lights.

Like awsm66, I don't want the flashy chrome. But I think it might go better with my white car.

huh...are you asking..."is it" possible or are you making the statement..."it is" possible?...and why would it tick someone off?

I assume by the question mark you are asking so the answer is YES you can.

You can flush mount USDM or projectors.

look at my 93 site and I have some directions.

These are for the angle eye rings only not the whole headlight assembly.

I'm surprised noone picked that up.

"JDM" and BMW do not go together. I think you mean get the Eruo projectors. Easy mistake to make since most people talk about JDM for imports.

i am an e36 owner and have peroformed the headlight sawp on my maxima
i have a pretty good understand form both aspects of e36 and maxima swap please ask me any questions about the matter
after being a member on bimmer forums here is what most people say for the e36. but should transfer over to maxima swap
dont get ebay headlight unless they are one of these brands:

bosch-dont know much i think they have only the euro light pattern(left light is aimed differnt) also supposted to be really good i think they are the euro oem for some models they also have stuff like lexus auto leveling
hella-most expensive-early models came chrome(people dont like the crome) bestlight output
ZKW-most popular second second best light output these are also in the oem part catalog
depo-certain people like them they are supposed to be decent lights

there are also many mods like e46 projectors in the e36 lights

i know how 3rd gens dont like to spend much money
i just used oem us spec headlights requires less cutting but output is nothing comparted to the brands listed earlier

get the 5100 hids they are the stockest looking
and i guess hid go up in temp as they get older so start lower
get hids it takes full advantage of upgrading your lights

buy from opuntiza or what ever it is they have really good realtion with other bmw owners and will work with your problems and custom needs
Do not buy ebay angle eyes they are led and suck real bad
you want cfl they are like floresent tubes they are the brightest

well this is all that is coming to my headright now

I dunno what's the point of spending few hundred bucks on upgraded headlights, when any day someone in front of you might break hard for a dead dog on the road and bang - there go your HIDs or whatever. Save'em for when you need a new set of brake pads or rotors.

Yeah, but the same argument can be said for darn near ANY mod you do for your car. I mean, what do you think will happen to that nice, shiny $200 ground effects kit if put in that SAME scenario?? Huh??

well i have an inward v shaped bumper due to a hard kiss with a towbar and my original lights are still ok but one shines brighter that the other and i can't solve the prob also the wiring harness is all melted... So i figured i'd get an aftermarket bumper with a spot for foglights and replace the headlights with e36 while im at it.
Thanks for your help guys!

New lamps will not solve u harness: have to repair anyways... U have now shorted wires and have both high & low beams on. You will cut that melted portion off and rewire, be it new or old lamps...

Can someone tell me what type of relay (model#) I need to upgrade my wiring harness? I am also putting in some new e36 headlights and want to upgrade the harness so it doesn't burn up.

He is the one that I was talking about when I said someone on here had them.

Click his name and then scroll down to "visit Flipdoutmax93's home page".

He has pics there.

That depends how u want to build u system. I want to have maximum voltage AT the lamp. Thereby I wired (see my web page) it with two single contact doublerelays.

Double: means in one packet 1relay for low beam, 2relay for high beam. NO =normally open. Contacts close only with +12V, taken from the old existing main light connector with in-inserted amp connector (=relay control).

As seen from pics, wired individual very thick wires near tha lamp. The thicker the better... http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/748507/11

You may buy single relays, but if u put them together, problems arise: they intermittently enter into such magnetized state, that lights will be ON after u leave u car. Just stick! Need to physically hit 'em in to head to get them consious (=nonmagnetized state) againn... Btw. Can be cured with a opposite diode.
