Speedo, ODO and CC dont work

recently the Speedo, ODO and Cruise Control stopped working on my 92 MAX. I have been told 2 diff things from 2 dif dealers. the first told me to change the Instrument cluster the other the speed sensor. Seem to me since all 3 things are not working that it leads to the speed sensor. Any input would be helpful

i'd check the speed sensor myself. just take a look at the wires of it off of the transmission... they're most likely melted, ripped, or something along those lines.

If wires are ok, check sensor 'output' with ohmmeter.

See the list:

I have the exact same problem with those three things on my 91 Max GXE. Replaced with a new speed sensor and all are working now.

I had the exact same problem after a tranny rebuild in my VE auto. It turned out it was either the speed sensor or the instrument cluster. I think they are linked closely somehow. Because my problem laid in a bad wire on the back of the instrument cluster. Soldered it back, and everything has been working fine ever since. So depending on the problem it could be either one.
