Hood shakin

Hood shakin
So know how our hoods look as if they are about to fly off on the highway at times, or like they are not latched all the way... Are there any measures that can be taken to pin them down a bit more? I think you guys know what im talkin about

if you pop your hood and look on the beam accross the front, near the edges, there will be two circular bumpers, you just twist them counter clockwise a bit, and see if that fixes it, if not try a little more, howver, you may need to order new ones from the ddealer, someone has pictures of this piece, justnot sure who

i bought those bump stops because mine were all crappy and broken, And i still noticed my hood flappin up and down. I want to think the hood struts were not put on right or need tightened.
i should take a look at it to fix it, but for now i just dont look at the hood when i drive on the highway

There is more than just the bottom bumpers. There are also top/middle bumpers as well. Those also help in springing the hood open.
The side circular rubber mouts are to align the hood with the fender. The middle ones are to keep pressure on the hood when its latched (on the hood itself right above the latch) so it does a couple of things. 1. the hood pops up a little when you pull the latch. 2. the hood doesnt bounce when its closed.
My guess is that your circular adjustable rubber bumpers as well as the middle ones are toast. They get compressed over time and quit working (especially the middle ones).
I have replaced all 4 and my hood is completely still at all speeds and its a very tight shut (pops up nicely when I pull the hood latch as well).
It could also be something as simple as the latch not being adjusted correctly but more than likely that hasnt been messed with so the problem is the rubber bumpers.

i also replaced those middle ones when i did the bump stops and i still get the same amount of wobble in my hood. I guess ill take a look at the latch...
do you think it could be where the hood is connected up by the cowl? or at the hood struts?

struts will not do that. If your hood hinge is loose sure it can shake. Is it shaking in the front or rear?
take a 12mm (maybe 14 I cant remember) and check the hinge bolts to see if they are loose.

ok so if everything is tight under my hood then why on earth does it shake at higher speeds.
on the front there are two bumps tops on the sides that are on the body, and two close to each other on the hood itself. For those two that are on the hood, do they just rest against the body, or are they supposed to hit other rubber stops? otherwise, i cant figure this one out and ill just have to live with it.

well are the side bumpers adjusted up? Just because they are new doesnt mean they will work unless they are adjusted. You may have to unscrew them a good bit to have them put the right pressure on the hood.
the middle bumpers rest on the body.

Ony my 92 max there are 3 bolts that hold the hood latch to the frame of the car - my car had been in a wreck, and the hood made quite a racket when going over bumps, etc..... apparently the shop that fixed it overlooked this part of the repair process. I loosened the 3 bolts holding the latch, then used a screwdriver/hammer to bump the latch down - it moved about 1/4 inch - I then retightened the bolts and... walla!! no more hood rattling!!!
