Struts/Shocks & Springs

Im going to replace my suspension soon and im looking for recommendations for my type of "terrain".
I live in an area with bad roads potholes, lots of corners, roller coasters all over the place and i go on unsealed roads at least every fortnight. Im wondering if anyone has experience with the various brands.. Im also getting a new set of mags 17x8.
Whadoyareckon?:

Shocks: Koni, KYB, Tokico.
Springs: Eibach, Sprint, Intrax, B&G, Suspension Techniques.

Thanks!

The Tokico struts are really expensive, especially for a 15-year-old car. I've been pricing them myself and have found them to be twice as much as the KYB's.
If you're driving on such rough terrain, you may want to go with a less-aggressive strut/spring package in favor of something that's going to give you a better ride (and insulate your poor car from all that shaking!).
Just my 2 cents' worth.

I think tokico are the one of the cheapest listed. You should get Eibachs as they provide the least amount of drop and they are closest to maintain a good ride quality (as so I have heard).

Koni's are the most expensive listed ($450+) but you can adjust the shock rate (for lack of immediate better terms). What sucks is that the shocks can't be on the car when you adjust them. A lot of people use Eibach and KYB's. For your area you shouldn't spend that much on shocks because once you bottom them out it'll be a waste of money.

either eibach/kyb or intrax/tokico koni is overpriced. however kyb's are cheap in price, but is a hard ride.

if you want a nice ride, not harsh, get the Konis with the eibachs.
of course if money is an issue then get the kybs instead of the konis

guys, I've been looking into changing my struts because they ride rough and bottom out easily. I'm not looking to mod my old max any, just make it ride a little nicer and not go BOOM when I hit a small hole in the pavement. What do you think about the limited lifetime warranty Gabriel struts from Autozone? They're about $50 per side and I'm thinking they will be plenty good for a 14 yr old Max with 184k.

You seem to want F1 Jeep...

"Im getting mags 17x8" <----is in the other end of----> "nicer and not go BOOM"

1 mags 17x8 BOOM
2 mags 17x8 BOOM
3 mags 17x8 BOOM
4 mags 17x8 BOOM

...next pothole...

I think I'd have more in the tires and wheels than what I paid for the car!

Nothin wrong in there. Wheels are the interface to the road, most important. Next come the chassis with systems etc. But better handling in racing is the opposite to comfort. Thereby I keep my original granddad wheels... ( err...nice explanation for no money?)

I bet u can beat my car in any aspect but comfo. GeneRalisation:
-Comfort: narrow high profile.
-Good Handling: broad low profile, lightweight.

I've been considering the Gabriel's or Monroe's myself. I don't intend to enter any road rallies or set any land speed records, just looking for a decent ride/handling.
What I DON'T want is to buy a cheap set of struts and be REALLY disappointed.

Thoughts?

Here my option was:
- stealership 1300$
- DIY, order from uk, 220$

The European Koni, Gabriel etc have maxima on their pricelist, but will not sell ! here [for maxima] because of their cartel system.
