Hi everyone! I am new here and impressed with the site.

I have a 90 SE with over 300,000 miles (not sure, as two odometers have died on me) and my driver's side door is sagging. I don't lean on it when I get out or anything, and I am not heavy.

Does anyone know if this is fixable? I have heard of this being easily fixed with new bushings on other vehicles. I am afraid to experiment, 'cause if I screw it up, how will I drive to work without a door????

BTW after 300k, she is still a kick in the pants, and the envy of my friends.

Welcome to the group!
that's some impressive mileage ya got there!

I've heard of this problem happening before on our cars. It's usually the pins in the door hinges that wear out. you should be able to open the door and take a look at them and see if they're damaged or show visible wear. Either way, they should probably be replaced. either you can try this yourself if you've got the tools, or take it to a body shop and have them do it. they're used to pulling/hanging/aligning doors, so it shouldn't be a problem for them.

If you do it yourself, just have 1 or 2 people there to help, as the door isn't extremely light and will be nearly impossible to do with just one person trying to hold the door and mount hinges at the same time. good luck.
