I've been thinking about doing this for a while, but just haven't had the time to do it. I'm going to cut out a hole behind the arm rest in the rear seat so that I can get more bass to come through to the cab of the car. That rear seat is really thick and stops a lot of bass from getting to the cab of the car. I know there's a metal support for the rear seat back there and I'm just going to cut through it along with the carpet. Has anyone done this before? It'll work, but I just need to get a jig saw that'll cut though the metal. I'm also going to have to relocate my amps, but it's worth it!

What Im going to try

Im looking at getting one of those square kicker subs and putting it right behind the ski port in a plexi glass box. I saw someone here doing something like it with 2 12"s, but I think it would look better with one of those square subs.

Don't cut that metal piece out. that's the only thing keeping the back seat and everything in the trunk rom crashing in on you if you're in a wreck. Not a good thing to remove.

Hey KC, you don't need to cut anything out to make a hole where the arm rest is. The only thing between you and the trunk is a piece of cardboard. I've already taken mine out to fit my skis in the car during ski season. You'll have to remove the whole seat, then from the back of the chair remove the cardboard piece. It will be held down by several screws. That's al there is to it. You'll have a hole behind your arm rest but if you put your arm rest up, it will sag in because there won't be any support there anymore.

I did the same exact thing with my 12" JL and speaker carpet. It looks factory and is really nice. I have pics if someone can direct me as how to post. I am not sure. Thanks!

Ok, I just started a Photopoint account, and I am gonna take a bunch of pics of my car after I wash and wax it tomorrow, so I will get a couple good shots of the sub and how it looks. Look for them tomorrow night. Hope this will help. Later!
