Oh i do drive the galaxie very often. I drive it even if my car isnt wrecked. Its not restored. it needs paint and a top. other then that its great. rebuilt motor 6 or 7 thousand miles ago. I wish it was a 390 or a 427 but its a 352 auto. I would restore it if I could afford it.

man.. don't you love that 2 speed auto?!

dad's is a 3 speed w/overdrive- which the OD kicks in on 2nd and 3rd gear.. so it's basically like driving a 5 speed. pretty cool stuff..

his only has a 289 in it, but when we rebuilt it, we put a crane cam, holley 4bbl carb, and TRW pistons in it. stock is 275HP.. we're guessing this one does around 325. it'll stomp most of the little civics around here.

I forget what the stock power is on that engine.. I think it's around 250 though..

plus the auto doesn't help much, and the 2bbl carb really slows things down.

is yours a 63 or 63 1/2? dad's is a 63 1/2 with the fastback hardtop on it..
I'll see if I can dig up a pic of it in my archives.

I had a horrifying experience today at lunch...the galaxie had an engine fire. K&N oils helped it burn way fast. Only damage was the kn filter and a huge bubble on the hood.

its a 63 1/2 but i read somewhere that 63 1/2 convertibles were never made.

I think I am going to upgrade the carb and intake.

your dads looks nice.
