Hello all- I just did a STS mod in my '94 SE 5sp that some of you might be interested in trying. The part that takes the longest is taking the darned thing out! Once it is out I cut the lever about 2" down from threads, then cut about 3" out of the bottom part, ground the two pieces smooth, welded them back together, ground down the slag and slapped some black spray-paint on there and put it back in. Honestly the taking it apart and putting it back together was the worst part, but I didn't take the exhaust section off so that made it a little tougher. All in all it was about 2 hours for the in the car work and about 15 minutes of cutting, welding and grinding. I have a couple friends with a welder but I know that if you bring the lever to a machine shop they would do it pretty cheap. In any case it would be less expensive than whatever aftermarket stuff is being sold right. LMK if you like it.
