will these tires fit??

I was driving today and blew out my front drivers side tire... so i need to replace it. I have 2 brand new 195 60 15's in my closet that I got for my saturn right before it was totaled... the stock tire is 205 65 15... will these ones i have in my house work, will it look stupid, and should i put them on the fronts or the backs? Also, where would a good place to go to have them put on the rims, will it cost a lot?

Matt

The 195/60R15s will physically fit, but don't bother. That tire is too small. It's over an inch less in diameter and your car won't handle right.

If you' put it on the front, the speedo will be off and the gap in the fender will look funny. If you put smaller tires on the rear, it really will look stupid.

Go here and do a comparison for yourself.

WTF?!
The ONLY time that would cause damage to the differential is if you had different sized tires on the left and right FRONT wheels.
if both front tires are the same size, the diff will not have a problem. it doesn't care what size they are, as long as they're both spinning at the same speed when you're cruising down the highway. otherwise, it doesn't matter a damn bit what size tires you have on the rear, or if they even match at all.. as long as the front two tires are the same size, you're fine.

ABS system might not like it but I doubt our primitive system could give a crap.

you could use them, just for a temporary replacment. i'd recommend getting the stock size though.

you'd be okay with them on the back, you're just pulling those anyway, so it really doesn't matter. They might look a little funny, but as close as the size is, you're probably the only one who's going to notice it. (except maybe another car nut) They'd be fine to run until you can get the right size. Might be a good time to think about some cool tires and wheels anyway if you've got to replace all four. The miata tire size calculator is priceless for determining what size to go to!

slickblack, the tire size calculator will tell you exactly how much difference it will make. It will tell you what your speedo error is, plus or minus, and how many mph. check it out...
