Confused

Hey whats up guys i have a 5th gen but im in an akward situation. I have both a
3rd gen and a 5th gen. My parents gave me the 5th gen to "Drive around" so i started to mod it and i noticed they started nagging at me at everything why the bulbs are brighter and why i took the stock HU out to put an aftermarket one etc.... I have a 3rd gen too which is in Ok shape, i used this one on a daily basis for school. The 3rd gen's tranny gave up so it was rebuilt after the 5th gen was purchased. Basically, I can go all out and mod the 3rd gen with hearing almost nothing from them its a 93 se with 130k ( we put about 100 of those on there), Or should i deal with the nagging and continue work on the 5th gen?
both cars look nice its just that with the 3rd gen i dont have to live by their guidelines.

anyway which one would be better performance wise? im looking for performance with some style (btw its an auto)

i would greatly appreciate you comments

Can't you just turn down the brightness on your aftermarket headunit? If you're gonna eventually get the 5th gen then I say mod it some more or leave it alone till you get it for sure that way you'll have saved up some money. Performance wise I'd say the newer car. You should post in the 5th generation area about modding.

I'd do the 3rd gen just to avoid the nagging

It's totally up to you but I would say the 3rd gen because I have one and I'm bias because I have one. Relistically, the 5th gen has ALOT more aftermarket parts available and it's probably better to mod a newer car anyway.

Do the 3rd gen, its much more fun to drive IMHO (we used to have a 2000 SE 5spd).

modify your car and leave your parent's car alone if they don't want it modified! they're nice enough to let you drive it in the first place and probably gave you the 3rd gen as a gift after they "upgraded" anyway. if i'm correct, you drive a 3rd gen and 5th gen maxima because your parents are nice. putting up with a little nagging is a small price to pay for that..btw, parents nag no matter what so there's no escaping that sorry man but imo, if it's their car, you should respect their wishes.

I still hear nagging from mine about my truck. It's mine... I'm paying for it, doing all the work with my money, at my house. And my wife doesn't nag about it... but I still hear it from my parents. Why do you need the subs? ETC... face it, they nag all the time. For the rest of your life.

But it is their car, and if they're paying for it, I'd respect their wishes. Otherwise it could creat some bad blood. Nothing like having your car taken away because you didn't stop modding theirs when they told you to.

take the HU off the 5th gen and put it in the 3rd gen.. that way u wouldn't have wasted ur money..

performance parts are cheaper on a 3rd gen than a 5th gen.. the 3rd gen has independent suspension, so if u like cornering and actually driving fast instead of just dragging fast, then go with the 3rd gen.. your VE with 190hp should be enuf power

If they handed you a 5th gen and are just "nagging" you, not gettin really angry and demanding you stop, then why stop? I think most can handle a little nagging, and if you can't just get in the 5th gen and leave a 50 foot slab while you peel out and drive up to deadmans creek and fight the guy that stole your head cheerleader girlfriend, sorry i got a little carried away wiht the 1950's movie motiff
