Water pump estimate

Is $300 a good price for parts and labor for a new water pump installed?

Only if they include new hoses for that..
the pump is about $75 and you'll need a gallon or so of coolant ($10). new thermostat and hoses are recommended as well. (about $40 for all).
that's $125 in parts, and I did the job last thursday in 2.5 hours.

so if you're paying a shop, $300 sounds about right if they replace all of the above. If not, then it's pretty high.

If they are doing the timing belt also, front seal, cam seals, it's great deal. If not, it's expensive. Take off water pump, spills antifreeze on belt = not a good thing

I think I paid about $100 for my waterpump, but I bought the one with the lifetime warrenty. If you want to be safe, say anything above $150 is just labor.

only replacing the water pump took me about an hour. I disconnected the tranny mounts aswell.
