Rear deck removal?

Rear deck removal?

Has anyone ever takin off the deck taht the speakers sit on in the back? im trying to finish up my tint on the rear windsheild and the bottem of the glass is very hard to get to

You mean the metal which the speakers are mounted, or the carpeted panel that the speaker grills are on. To get that panel off i just pulled the back seat away from the three top moutning prongs, and then pulled up. There are a bunch of panel clips (like on the door panels) holding it in. To help pop those off, I got in the trunk with pliers and popped them out so the panel came off easily. It is glued down to some foam stuff on both sides, but its not much so i wouldn't worry about ripping it. This was for a 90 GXE, however but I'm pretty sure its the same thing.

Do you have a pic of the panel clips? Is it those green things in the trunk?

yeah im pretty sure, they are just holding the panel to the metal deck. The set-up for the clips is exactly like the doors panels (same clips, same mounting to deck carpeting). Just open it up, you should be ok.
