Wheel Studs

I've been looking for a while but I dont see any answers. In order to change a stud does the hub have to come off? Basically is there a way to change a stud without taking the hub off?

In the front, yes. In the rear, I don't think so but taking the rear hub off is like 1 step so who cares anyway. In the front take a pair of tin snips and cut out a section on the rotor dust shield. You'll be able to slide the studs in and out through there. Here is a pic from my cardomain:

See where the stud at 1 o'clock is? That's where you cut a little section out and install / remove the studs from.

I cant seem to get the stud out. Shouldn't it come out with a few bangs from a hammer? Ive sprayed WD-40 and it still wont budge.

Is your hammer a small sledgehammer? That's what I used.

They are $60 for a set of 10, and I bought them at Courtesy. Only get them if you need them, as they are $$$ compared to stock ones ($1 each).

i can press in 5 studs in 2 min with my impact gun.
-air tools make everything super easy and much quicker. (best investment ever..)
-one super hard hit with a sledge will knock the old stud out..

If at all possible, use a machine press to pop the studs out. A hammer, especially a sledge hammer, can ruin wheel bearings.

if u can knock the stud with one hit then all the force will be absorbed by the stud.. nothing will happen to the wheel bearings
