Does our stock ECU have a PiggyBack mod available?
Does our stock ECU have a PiggyBack mod available?
I don't have many performance mods (fidanza, CAI, Y-pipe, ground harness) but was considering getting some type of engine tuning device like:
1) the JWT ECU,
2) the ZEMulator (new) or
3) some type of piggyback device on the stock ECU for air/fuel mixture.
Are the Jim Wolf ECU and the ZEMulator going to be overkill for a slightly modded car like mine? I don't race at the track, but would like the engine to get the maximum benefit from the mods I have installed.
Oh, and is our stock ECU an OBD1 or OBD2?

I don't know what an upgraded ECU (like JWTs) will do for my Maxima. Would an air/fuel piggyback system be all I would need for the limited mods I have? What does the JWT ECU do besides air/fuel enhancement?

if you're really into DIY the zem would be the best way to go over anything else. the piggybacks are really just a cheap (yet expensive) way to tune the car. you can only trick the ecu into supplying more or less fuel though. with the zem you can tune fuel and ignition and just about anything else.
jwt would be the way to go if you don't want to diy.
