Long story short because its late. 3 runs.
1st - 60': 2.577 1/4: 17.261 @ 81.12
2nd - 1/4: 17.3
3rd - 1/4: 17.1

Dont have all the info for last 2 runs because theyre computer messed up, sorry. I bogged the first 2 runs; launched about 2500rpms. 3rd run I hit it at like 3500rpms.

Needless to say Im not happy with these times. Not sure what the problem was. Maybe it was because Id never raced a 5speed up at a track, or the exhaust leak or hot engine. But whatever, its mainly my fault.

I ran 17.1 in my old '95 Z26. I know my Max is faster than that car.

Questions, comments, concerns very welcome.

Hmmm....

how was your shifting?? was there any major wheel spin of the line? I think 5spd VG's run 16 flats and lower, but don't worry about it, my first time at the track I was running a 17.2 now a couple runs later I'm running a 16.7, eventhough I've got an auto there is a certain method to launching that will contribute to your final ET. just keep practicing and you'll be pulling lower ETs in no time!

You should be running around mid 16's. Aim for 16.5 in the 1/4 mile and consider that a good run. If your really really lucky.. you might get 16.3. But 16.5 is what the stock VG 5-spd Max's run most of the time.

Me, the driver, probably had a lot to do with it. Ive only been driving a 5speed daily since January.

The only thing I did to it before the race was take the spare tire out, I didnt mess with the air filter or anything. I just wanted to get a base number so I could compare it with something after I get exhaust done.

My 2 other friends who drove up there:
'87 Monte SS - 15.47
'92 Corvette - 13.91

Now that I think about it, I should have let one of my friends run it and see what they could get.

DA MAX: There wasnt too much wheelspin. I dont remember even getting any bouncing. Maybe not enough wheelspin. I just gotta keep practicing. The track surface is a lot different than a street surface too, which I was used to practicing on.
