Head Light-wire Confusion

Hello guys, Well my DRIVERS SIDE headlight bulb harness is melted and im swapping out the harness but i need to know if anyone knows what the wire color code is for the wires? I have 2 RED wires one with a blue stripe/ one with a yellow stripe and a black ground. If anyone knows which one is positive and negative that would be of great help. Also do you know to which of these wires goes where on the bulb???????

Im not sure about the wires either. If you dont want to use the other side as a reference how about a voltmeter test?

Do a search on Google for "9004 to 9007 conversion maxima.org". That will tell you exactly what's what. Even if you switch the brights and the lows you won't do any damage, if you notice it soon enough and switch it around.

why not just match up the wires? that's how i did it on mine. the new harnesses used a different color coding...so i just matched up the wires from the connector. then, just cut the wires at different lengths so you know which is which. or just do them one at a time.

I just finished by E36 conversion and re-wiring. Its all taped up now, but I do remember that the red with yellow stripe was for the brights and the black is the negative. You can't use the passenger side as a guide, cause the wires are different colors on that side (whatsup with that?).
