VG engine- ticking noise???

whats up with the ticking noise coming from my engine? is it the exhaust manafold? it still accelerates fine, and at highier rpms it goes away, but at idle and 1-2 rpms it makes that noise...any suggestions on what it is and how bad it will be to fix?

That ticking noise is very common on our cars. It comes from broken exhaust manifold studs. The noise goes away after a while because when heated, they expand and fill the holes. They are expensive to fix since it takes a long time to do (labor is high, parts not too much). It will run you anywhere from $300-900 depending on how many are broken and where you go. Look around for a good price. It's not very critical that you fix them, but it's good if you have the money. I still haven't fixed mine. Hope this helps.
