I just installed my tranny cooler a couple of days ago, N decided to place a pic of it since the topic has been asked on the board lately. Made by Hayden, model 403 for $38 at Pepboys or local auto part store. Sorry about the attachment.

Great

I just pick up the same model cooler and was wondering if there might be a clearance problem. It's tight, but it does fit. My original cooler was clogged after my tranny self destroyed.

Do any of you guys bypass the stock cooler
when you upgrade, or do you run the line from the stock
cooler to the aftermarket one?

Combo

No, do not bypass anything. Both stock and aftermarket cooler will work together cooling your tranny fluid. Hence like a combo cooling. As for effects well it'll save the life of your tranny about 30% longer, and your shifting will be alot smoother. You'll also feel quicker acceleration at higher speeds. The job is fairly E Z and I could'nt tell ya what your local auto store would charge ya for install but Im pretty sure u have a friend that could help ya with it...save u $$$ like that.

Make sure

The ATF flows from the tranny to the OEM/radiator cooler then to the after-market cooler and back to the tranny.

instructions come with the cooler. it takes about an hour, less if you've done one before.

Did you need to buy anything besides the cooler itself. I have read a couple how-to write-ups that say you need 4 feet of transmission line, but that was for a 4th gen. Did you need this hose or anything else? Also, what all on the car did you have to remove/move?
