eyelids or no eyelids

I am thinking about ordering some headlight covers and then cutting/making them into just some eyelids. I am thinking of somthing about 1-2inches wide and then the length of the headlight alone. What do you guys think. Here is what it would kind of look like I guess. If anyone wants to draw up a pic with them on, be my guest

Something else to consider is that I do not have corner bulbs and so at night you would just see the headlight with the eyelid. If I were to do this, does anyone know the best material to use for the eyelid......something that wouldn't let light show through cuz now that I think about it, a headlight cover would

Sorry to say but IMO the eyelids make the MAX look like an 80's pontiac, with the itty biddy headlights.

My honest opinion? Yuck! I think you would get tired of them when the novelty wears off.

I think to make it look right you would have to put something over the corner light. Because it just dont look right. Or you could be the first person and try and shave off the corner light....

I agree with that. you would want to make it to cover the top of the corner also. Looks ok. I never really like eyelids that much unless they were done nicely.

i tried it on mine by using electrical tape to see how it looked, i did one strip of tape from the headlight and also continued across the top of the corner light as well... looked alright

if you do it, make it thinner than what you have in the pic, also do it on the corner lens as well, about as thick as that top "line" on the corner lens

if that was my max, i would leave the headlights alone. if i was gonna do a eyelid, id go with one that goes all the way to the corner light. on fourth gens, you can take apart the headlight and paint the sides black, its the a.e. mod. you know what im talking about? can you do that on 3rd gens? if so, that might look really good. but all in all, do what you like.
or you know what might be a pretty cool custom mod. make the top of the grill ( the frame part) go all the way to the end of the corner light. i think that will be sweet. and i think its possible

I beg to differ...sure it’s not as noticeable as the 4th gens but in person it looks really cool especially with the UK corners...very subtle and nice IMO.

pic from my cardomain site. If it doesn’t show up check my site for pics

I'm not an "eyelid" guy either. To me it's so obvious they're stuck on that it cheapens the appearance.

IMO of course.

alright the best way to do this would be get some wade overs which cover the corner light too, then you cut them into the eyelid shape you want, and you paint it the color you want, it shouldnt be that hard

Yeah it looks really weird with the stock corner in there....but why would you ever try to remove the corner light altogether? It'll look really weird, and you'll use the functionality of actually having cornering lights, which I value highly. Just my opinion.
