CAI for VE...

I remember like a year ago reading on here, someone was selling a "homemade" but very well done, cold air intake setup. I think it might of even been Jeff. Some kind of special cold-rolled steel or somethign was used so that even after hours of driving the intake tube is cold to the touch.
I felt my cheapo ebay cai tube and it was pretty hot. who here was making these, and are you still making them? and is it include both parts(elbow connect to TB & one into fender)?

Jeff92SE makes a very nice one. I don't know about the "cold-rolled" steel bit, but it is much thicker and when it sucks in cool air, the air keeps the pipe cooler.

Also, his design is different -- it puts the filter in behind the headlight instead of where the small hole was for the resonator tube. You have to do a bit of cutting behind the headlight.

Shawn, Jeff and I have one (No, Jeff, I haven't installed it yet ). Maybe someone else, too? PM Jeff if he doesn't answer this thread soon.

I sold mine
es_maxima (ie. Blue_Streak) has it now

yeah, after driving for any ammount of time you can pop the hood and the tubing is cold.

Chris bring yours up, maybe Jeffro can come meet up with the grinder too (all I have is my Dremel and that's alittle weak for the job)

What are ways you can wrap the CAI with some type of heat shield? I have the Ebay CAI & would like to somewhat heat wrap it, any ideas? Also what kind of gains do you think there is between the Ebay one & Jeff's? (Comparison)

there is some black almost tar looking stuff, comes in a big roll, it is used to insulate AC pipes to keep the cold in..I imagine you could use this, but I honestly would not do it, as you probably won't feel any gains at all...and it will look like **** on your intake...
