clutch question

clutch question
when i get in my car in the morning my clutch petal is sunk to the floor, but when i lift it up with my foot it says up just fine and works perfect. i replaced the slave cylinder already but i still have the same problem and i cant find any leaks.
also about 80% of the time when i try to start my car it just clicks, then silence (no cranking). after pumping on the clutch petal for a while it starts up. i replaced the starter and the starter relay (the relay showed up with too much resistance) but i still have the same problem.
i think those to problems might have something to do with each other but im not sure. any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

Your clutch pedal sinking to the floor may be air in the system or a bad master cylinder.
Being you have replaced the starter, it might be the switch on your clutch pedal.{ the switch prevents you from starting the car in gear}

uh... they doen't share the same reservoir, the master cylinder is tied to the brake system only. the slave cylinder on the forward side of the tranny is what operates the clutch. i would double check fluid lines, drain plug (though i doubt it's the drain plug since it's elevated so high on transaxle), and axle seals. i wouldn't be surprised if it were axle seals.

the clutch master cylinder often leaks from the inside of the firewall. grab a flashlight and crawl under the dash.. look for signs of leakage from the front seal there.
If you don't see any leakage, have someone press and hold the pedal to the floor whiel you watch the arm on the tranny.. see if the lever arm slowly pushes itself back into resting position.
this will indicate a bad seal somewhere- whether in the master of slave cylinder.
also bleed your clutch line from both points. there are two bleeder screws on the thing. total PITA to bleed, but once you do it should work fine, assuming you have no leaks or bad seals in the system.

what about the starting problem, does anyone have any suggestions on that?
