RWD Brain storm
RWD Brain storm
I know there's been alot o locked threads on this, but let just talk about it some more.
The porpose is strickly for gathering useful information with the possibility of doing this.
I've been going back on forth on this MAJOR Idea for a while.
The plan.
vg30ett, mounted in a RWD postion.
j30 rear end.
Custom drive shaft.
I think our spindles can be changed out and just have our strut seat into the. Obvesouly the back seat and trunk will need to be cut out and reconstructed. Along with the current passage for the exhaust will need to expanded for a drivetrain, and dual pipes that come from the vg30ett.
If anyone has diagrams of the j30 rear end, and the 300zx rear,, please post them.
Just looking at the engine bays of the 3000zx and ours, there's no doubt the fire was will need to be cut back a portion. The 300zx 5-speed tranny isn't VERY large and the shifter could very possibly line up.
STEERING, this couble be an issue. Going rwd would place the new tranny right through our rack and pinion. BUT IF the 300zx front end can be built into the front(now that i think about it, there is no other way) the rack on it's front end is mounted inline with the subframe connector. Again, I'm hoping our strust will slide into the 300z spindles.
If any has any useful information please post. Vs the 'go buy a rwd car.'
AS soon as I can park this car for a while I want to start gathring the parts.
