Tail light assembly

I had posted on this topic a while back. Whenever I hit my brakes, dash would light up and 10A fuse would blow. The mechanic I took it to gave me a BS story about him changing some shorted wires and then upped the fuses to a 20A fuse. I posted the problem on the board and right way got the answer - A messed up tail light assembly. Well, last night I was driving to philly from NJ and I blew the fuse again. So this morning I checked the right hand side tail assembly and the assembly was not corroded but actually burned. The top bulb right bulb only. I could smell burnt plastic and the plastic anchor that held the socket had melted (the other three anchors for the other three sockets are fine). My question is

1) Do I have to only change that particular socket or do I have to replace the entire assembly?
2) Doesnt anybody know where I can get the part, part number..etc

Thanks for the correct diagnosis guys. Saved me a trip (or more) to the mechanic.

Nice to hear! Hard to say, Cannot see...

Socket would be ok. Melting the plastic with solder iron to support it, is relatively easy. Just make sure no short will occur. Save few $. Still I would guess easiest is to found another assy from junkyard.

Whatever u do, buy selfvulcanizing tape, and u'll never have to worry shorts again. Plastic tape's glue melts guite soon - and then theres hazard.

Thanks Wiking. I guess i will look at some salvage yards to see if I can get the part. Anybody know a good place in Philadelphia or close to edison, nj where I can get a tail light assembly?
